Blood or seed vessels.

Greek angeion, vessel.

Angiography is the X-ray examination of blood vessels; angiocardiography is a similar examination of the heart and its blood vessels. An angioma (plural angiomata) is a benign tumour composed of blood vessels or lymph vessels; the production of new blood vessels is called angiogenesis; angiotensin is an enzyme whose presence in the blood constricts the vessels and raises blood pressure. (The heart condition angina, which looks as though it belongs here, derives instead from Greek ankhonē, strangling, which describes the pain.) In botany, an angiosperm is a plant of a large group that has flowers and produces enclosed seeds.
