Latin Afer, Afr‑, African.

Hyphenated terms often denote a combination of Africa with another country: Afro-Asiatic denotes a family of languages spoken in the Middle East and North Africa; Afro-American (now also in full as African-American), refers to black Americans; Afro-Caribbean to a person of African descent living in or coming from the Caribbean. In the US Afrocentric refers to teaching that emphasizes African history and culture. An Afro is a hairstyle reminiscent of the natural hair of some black people.
