In geology, tectonics is the name given to large-scale processes that affect the structure of the earth's crust. Tectonophysics deals with the forces that cause movement and deformation in the crust; the adjective tectonostratigraphic refers to the correlation of rock formations with each other in terms of their connection with a tectonic event; something tectonothermal involves both tectonism and geothermal activity.
