Affixes

Terms are found in biology, most commonly in the systematic names of organisms. Examples are rhynchosaur (Greek sauros, lizard), a tusked herbivorous reptile of the Triassic period; the Rhynchophora is a group of beetles with snouts, the weevils; rhynchosporium is a fungus which causes barley and rye leaf blotch, so named because of its shape; a rhynchonellid is a member of a group of marine invertebrates called brachiopods.
