Plumbago is an old name for graphite, so called because it was used in pencil leads, but now it more commonly refers to an evergreen flowering shrub or climber, also called leadwort, from the colour of its flowers; the adjective plumbous refers to lead with a valency or combining power of two, while plumbic refers to lead with a valency of four; plumbism is another name for lead poisoning; plumbogummite and plumbojarosite are minerals containing lead.
