A common term is pharmacy; a pharmacopoeia (US also pharmacopeia) (Greek ‑poios, making) is a publication that contains a list of medicinal drugs with their effects and directions for their use; pharmacotherapy is medical treatment by means of drugs. Pharmacology is the branch of medicine concerned with the uses, effects, and modes of action of drugs; this has several sub-disciplines, including pharmacogenetics, concerned with the effect of genetic factors on reactions to drugs, and pharmacokinetics, concerned with the movement of drugs within the body.
