Pelvimetry is measurement of the size of the pelvis, undertaken chiefly to help determine whether a woman can give birth normally, while pelviscopy is surgical examination of the pelvis, similarly as part of reproductive medicine. Less commonly, pelvi‑ occurs in adjectives for the pelvis plus another part of the body, such as pelvirectal, of the pelvis and rectum, or pelvifemoral (Latin femur, femor‑, thigh), of the structures of the hip joint.
