The adjective nomothetic relates to the study or discovery of general scientific laws; something nomological denotes law-like principles, especially laws of nature, of which the study is nomology. A nomogram is a diagram representing the relations between three or more variable quantities by means of a number of scales. A nomarchy (Greek arkhē, government) is an administrative division of modern Greece, formerly a province. Words such as nomenclature and nominate come instead from Latin nomen, name.
