The forehead or front part of something.
Latin frons, front‑, front or forehead.
The most common word here is frontispiece (Latin specere, to look, so unrelated to piece), an illustration facing the title page of a book. Some examples are terms in anatomy or surgery: frontocortical, of the front of the cerebral cortex; frontoparietal, of the frontal bone or lobe. In meteorology, frontogenesis is the formation or development of a weather front, whose opposite is frontolysis (from Greek luein, loosen).
