decem-
Ten.
Latin decem, ten.
This is the less common Latin alternative to the Greek deca‑. The only common examples are December, originally the tenth month of the Roman year. Decennium, a decade (with its adjective decennial) derives from the related Latin decennis, of ten years, from annus, year.
