An Hispanophile is a lover of Spain or the Spanish people or language; an Hispanist (less often Hispanicist) is an expert in or student of the language, literature, and civilization of Spain and the Spanish-speaking countries of South America; an Hispanic is a Spanish-speaking person, especially one of Latin American descent, living in the US. Terms such as Hispano-American and Hispano-German refer to links between countries or peoples.
