The building blocks of English
Affixes
-worthy
Deserving; suitable or fit for.
English worthy.
The first sense appears in blameworthy, praiseworthy, trustworthy, noteworthy, and creditworthy; the second in airworthy, newsworthy, and roadworthy. The ending is rarely used to create new forms, and many words containing it are now archaic, such as laughworthy and thankworthy.
