Zoology is the scientific study of animals, for which the adjective is zoological; zooplankton is plankton consisting of small animals and the immature stages of larger animals; a zoospore is a spore of certain algae, fungi, and protozoans; a zoonosis (Greek nosos, disease) is a disease which can be transmitted to humans from animals; zoomorphic (Greek morphē, form) refers to the representation of animal forms or gods of animal form.
