xeno-
Foreign; different.
[Greek xenos, stranger, foreigner.]
Xenophobia is an intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries or cultures; xenotransplantation is the process of grafting or transplanting organs or tissues between members of different species; a substance that is xenobiotic is foreign to the body or to an ecological system. The chemical element xenon was so named because it is a heavy inert gas that occurs only in tiny quantities in the atmosphere.
