The uropod (Greek pous, pod-, foot) is the sixth and last pair of abdominal appendages of lobsters and related crustaceans, forming part of the tail fan; the uropygium (Greek pugē, rump) is the rump of a bird, supporting the tail feathers; a urostyle is a long bone at the base of the vertebral column in frogs and toads.
