Words formed using this ending are specialist terms in botany: gamosepalous (Greek gamos, marriage), less commonly synsepalous (Greek sun, with), having the sepals united; polysepalous (Greek polloi, many), having a calyx of separate sepals; oppositisepalous, of a plant feature situated opposite a sepal.
