The drugs psilocybin (Greek kubē, head) and psilocin are alkaloid hallucinogenics found in the liberty cap and related toadstools of the genus Psilocybe, named from their appearance; psilomelane (Greek melas, melan-, black) is a hydrated oxide of manganese, which occurs in smooth black amorphous masses.
