pelvi-
The pelvis.
[English pelvis.]
Pelvimetry is measurement of the size of the pelvis, undertaken chiefly to help determine whether a woman can give birth normally, while pelviscopy is surgical examination of the pelvis, similarly as part of reproductive medicine. Less commonly, pelvi- occurs in adjectives for the pelvis plus another part of the body, such as pelvirectal, of the pelvis and rectum, or pelvifemoral (Latin femur, femor-, thigh), of the structures of the hip joint.
