A condition of the nails.

Paronychia (Greek para, beside) is an inflamed swelling of the fold of skin at the margin of a nail; koilonychia (Greek koilos, hollow) is a condition in which the fingernails become thin, brittle and concave instead of convex, also called spoon-nail; pachyonychia (Greek pakhus, thick) is a rare genetic disorder in which, among other symptoms, the nails become thickened; onychia is inflammation of the bed of a nail.
