Examples include neutrophil (Greek philos, loving), a type of white blood cell that is neutrophilic, which can be readily stained only by neutral dyes; neutropenia (Greek penia, poverty), a lack of neutrophils in the blood. A neutron is a subatomic particle of about the same mass as a proton but without an electric charge; a neutrino (see -ino) is another neutral particle with a mass close to zero.
