The term medicolegal (also medico-legal) refers to the legal aspects of the practice of medicine; medico-social (less often medicosocial) relates to the social issues surrounding medicine; medico-economic refers to the economic implications and costs of medical provision; medico-chirurgical (Latin chirurgia, surgery) indicates matters relating both to medicine and to surgery.
