The adjective homocentric refers to a view that humankind is the central or most important element of existence; a hominid is a primate of a family which includes humans and their fossil ancestors; homage originally referred to the ceremony by which a vassal declared himself to be his lord's ‘man’; an homunculus is a very small human or humanoid creature; human comes from the same root.
