A granule.
Latin granulum, granule.
A granulocyte (Greek kutos, vessel) is a white blood cell with secretory granules in its cytoplasm; granulocytosis is an abnormal increase in their number in the blood; a granuloma is a mass of granulation tissue, typically produced in response to infection, inflammation, or the presence of a foreign substance. The adjective granulometric relates to the size distribution or measurement of grain sizes in sand, rock, or other deposits.
