The glia.

The glia, also called the neuroglia, is the connective tissue of the nervous system, consisting of several different types of cell associated with neurons. A glioma is a malignant tumour of the glial tissue and a glioblastoma is a highly invasive glioma in the brain; gliosis is a proliferation of certain glial cells that may appear as a sign of healing after damage to the central nervous system; gliomatosis is a diffuse extra growth of neuroglia in the brain or spinal chord.
