Forming nouns.

French, or from Latin ‑itio(n)‑.

This suffix may be considered to be a combination of ‑ite2 and ‑ion and is equivalent to ‑ation. Some examples are audition, condition, definition, disposition, edition, inhibition, nutrition, prohibition, sedition, tradition, and volition. Some form associated adjectives in ‑itious.
